My name is Caroline Powell and I am a cancer survivor.  Diagnosed back in 2019, I have really been put through the mill, but my most recent post treatment scans show that I’m thankfully clear. Surviving cancer has completely changed my outlook on life and given me a renewed zest for living – just as if I’ve been given a second chance. Which I have! In the midst of all my treatment (click through to “My Story” if you want the details!) one kind friend gave me a lavender candle. Lavender has long been known to calm disquiet and soothe anxiety and this candle certainly smelt pleasant, although it burned out very quickly.

Which got me to thinking … could I do better? So, inspired by the kind gesture of a friend that had put a smile on my face, I determined to make eco-friendly candles from soy wax that would have wonderful aromas, burn for much
longer, and put a smile on the face of those who open that gift from a caring friend.
